Pinterest project

I have another quick Pinterest project for ya! Well... it's not really a project as much as it is a pretty organizing/decor/display project. After taking a knitting class with Amy, I have collected a variety of pretty yarn for projects that I may someday knit. There are a LOT of projects on my "someday list", so I think I'll have this lovely display for quite a while.

The next photo wasn't inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, but just today I saw some similar ideas featured on the blog Atypical Type A. Here is my $5 shoe hanger from Target that I use to store various tools in the laundry room. I saw a nice (and expensive) one in a DIY magazine a year or so ago, and I knew I could do something similar and MUCH cheaper.

I keep painting supplies, levels, spray paint, screwdrivers... basically all kinds of handy tools and stuff. I like the clear plastic pockets because it's easier to see the items. If you notice the organizer is actually wrapped around a weird column in the laundry room. I think it makes good use of an akward space, what do you think? combat crafting

I finally got up during the daylight hours today! I wasn't feeling well at all, but I dragged myself out of bed and Amy and I wandered around trying to find a place to take some photos of our projects. We stumbled across a red barrier that had recently been put up around the Bhuts and decided that little splash of color would be nice for the photo shoot.

Surprisingly most of the guys that walked by as we were taking photos were genuinely interested without poking fun. Seeing all that color in the drab environment we're living in I think would make anyone smile.

Amy has been a knitting champ. She mentioned that she felt like she hadn't done much in her spare time here.. well I beg to differ. She has made:

• 8 cup coozies
• a washcloth with my initial on it :)
• gift bag (with another in progress)
• scarf
• hat (in progress)

Those are just the knitted projects. In fact, after seeing all her projects laid out, I felt like I was one who had been wasting time away! We both have also done some paper crafting with magazines which was also fun.

I started this embroidery a while back and it was super fun to do.

The violet yarn for this cowl looks nice against the embroidery. Love all the colors.

my projects.. all still in progress

It's been a lot of fun having Amy next door to share in all the crafting creativeness. It's almost time to go home!!! I hope I can keep up the projects once I get back to regular life.

new projects

I know, I know... I still haven't posted the projects  Amy and I have made since we've been here. I haven't been around for much daylight, so the photo taking has been postponed until tomorrow. Instead I sat on my bed and wound some new yarn up into a ball.

I bought this yarn from PurlSOHO to make a couple cowls from this pattern.
